Basketball Backboard Recreational Glass – ARG

The ARG recreational glass backboard from Gared Sports has the professional glass backboard as its foundation. But, unlike the LXP4200, the ARG has additional steel struts which allows the ARG to fit older and smaller size backstops. Indeed, the ARG fits most mounting framework for fan shaped backboards. This allows smaller fan shaped backboards to be replaced with the full size ARG backboard.

Usage
The ARG recreational glass backboard is recommended for recreational play. It meets standards set by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS).

Size
The ARG is 72” x 42”. This is industry standard for all levels of play.

Mounting
The backboard has rear mounting flanges at each corner as well as additional mounting struts. The spacing of the corner mounting flanges is 63” from left to right and 36” from top to bottom. The mounting flanges on the center struts are 35” from left to right and 20” from top to bottom. This backboard can also be mounted behind the rim. Mounting hardware is sold separately.

This board should be able to replace most 72” x 42” backboards which have 63” x 36” mounting flanges or smaller boards which have 35” x 20” mounting flanges.

Construction
The ARG recreational glass backboard has 1/2” tempered glass and steel frame. Corners are fastened with heavy gauge steel mounting plates. All of the steel is powder coated grey. An acrylic pad is used between the rim mounting plate and the glass to reduce the risk of breakage. Vinyl shock absorbers are used between the glass and steel frame.

The ARG is an LXP4200 with the addition of mounting struts to fit small mounting configurations

Rim Compatibility
The rim mounting holes are 4” vertical and 5” horizontal. Most rims that fit a 72” x 42” backboard will fit this backboard. However, please check the rim compatibility chart to confirm.

Gared Sports offers a lifetime warranty on the ARG recreational glass backboard.

The ARG ships flat on a 44” x 74” pallet. The total shipping weight is about 213 pounds.

The 3050RG recreational glass backboard from Gared Sports is an ideal side court or secondary goal. This backboard includes additional steel mounting struts behind the glass for multiple mounting configurations.

Usage
The 3050RG recreational glass backboard is recommended for recreational play. It meets standards set by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS).

Size
The 3050RG is 54” x 42”.

Mounting
The backboard has rear mounting flanges at each corner as well as additional mounting struts. The spacing of the corner mounting flanges is 45” from left to right and 36” from top to bottom. The mounting flanges on the center struts are 35” from left to right and 20” from top to bottom.

The 3050RG recreational glass backboard has 1/2” tempered glass and steel frame. Corners are fastened with heavy gauge steel mounting plates. All of the steel is powder coated grey. Optional 2000+ Rim
The 2000+ Collegiate Double Spring Breakaway Rim fits this backboard and is sold separately. This rim is approved for use for most levels of play ranging from elementary schools to universities.

Optional Backboard Pad
There are 2 options for backboards pads. Pads are sold separately.

Option 1: The PSCE (Peel and Stick Cushion Edge) is a grey one size fits all pad that is cut to fit with a utility knife and then attached with included double sided tape.

Option 2: The PMCE Pro-Mold Pad is made to fit 72” glass backboards. This is a heavy duty competition level pad used for all levels of play from elementary schools to NBA arena goals. Each side of this pad would need to be cut to fit. The pad is secured with #10 machine screws and flange nuts.
